are of short duration, six months and rarely more than one school year (ie nine months). They are intended for foreign acquisition of a specialized education theory and practice of high level, and are reserved for qualified graduates wishing to practice a profession in a field of competence of UNESCO.

The conditions for the granting of scholarships are set in a circular sent by UNESCO of Paris to the National Commissions at the beginning of each biennial exercise. Publication of calls for the grants from the 2008-2009 period is expected by the end of 2007 and the deadline for the submission of the application will likely set the date of March 20, 2008. b) co-sponsored Scholarships are offered by Member States, foundations and individuals and have varying maturities and characteristics. They are advertised on the website: www.unesco.org are considered as priority applications for young scientists from developing countries and, for equal qualifications, female applicants. Applications for individual grants should be submitted to the National Commission for UNESCO in your country, using the appropriate form and addressed to the Director General of UNESCO.
